Lady of the lake
A pet project to play around with the visual style for a potential comic retelling and weaving together the myths and history of the British Isles. Here we settle on the tale of the Welsh/Briton hero-king, Arthur.
My take on the Lady of the Lake and Excalibur. If Arthur ever existed, he was likely a Romano-British resistance leader during the departure of the Romans from Britannia and the following Anglo-Saxon invasion. This is why I decided Excalibur (or the Latin, ‘Caliburnus’) should be a Gladius sword of a killed Centurion, blessed by the mysterious Lady of the Lake.
